Asia's Largest Alpine Meadows
The Ali Bedni Bugyal trek offers a walk through two of the largest, highest, and most stunning alpine meadows (Bugyals) in Asia, nestled deep in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand.
The defining feature of this trek is the staggering view of Mt. Trishul and Mt. Nanda Ghunti erupting straight out of the vibrant green carpet of the Bugyal. This trail was earlier a part of the legendary Roopkund trek, but today stands on its own as a magnificent, easier alternative offering the very best meadow campsites, ancient dark oak forests, and rich Himalayan wildlife.

Dehradun to Lohajung
A long and winding 10-hour drive from Dehradun through the beautiful Kumaon region up to the remote base camp village of Lohajung (7,600 ft).
Drive: 260 km2
Lohajung to Didina Village
Start with an easy walk down to the Neel Ganga river, cross the old bridge, and undertake a short, steep climb to the stunning homestay village of Didina.
Trek: 8.5 km3
Didina to Ali Bugyal
A steep climb through deep brown oak forests. As you breach the treeline, you step into the unimaginably vast green expanse of Ali Bugyal with Mt. Trishul right in front.
Trek: 10 km4
Ali Bugyal to Bedni Bugyal and Ghaeroli Patal
A magical ridge walk connecting Ali and Bedni Bugyal. Visit the Bedni Kund temple, explore the sprawling meadows, and descend into the dense forest camp of Ghaeroli Patal.
Trek: 7 km5
Ghaeroli Patal to Lohajung
Steep descent back down to the Neel Ganga river, followed by a short ascent back to Wan village. Take a jeep back to Lohajung base camp.
Trek: 12 km6
Lohajung to Dehradun
Drive back to Dehradun, completing the incredible journey through India's finest alpine meadows.
