The Char Dham Yatra is the most revered pilgrimage circuit in the Indian Himalayas, located in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.
This 10-day spiritual journey takes you to four sacred shrines dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, Goddess Ganga, Lord Shiva, and Lord Vishnu. From bathing in holy rivers to trekking through the dramatic terrains of Kedarnath, this yatra is equally a test of physical endurance and a profoundly spiritual experience amidst magnificent mountain scenery.
Yatra Itinerary
- Day 1: Drive Haridwar to Barkot via Mussoorie. Check-in and rest.
- Day 2: Drive to Jankichatti. Trek 6km to Yamunotri (can opt for palki/pony). Have darshan and trek back. Night stay in Barkot.
- Day 3: Drive to Uttarkashi. Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple in the evening.
- Day 4: Early drive to Gangotri via Harsil Valley. Holy dip in Bhagirathi, Darshan, and drive back to Uttarkashi.
- Day 5: Long drive to Guptkashi. Medical check-up for Kedarnath.
- Day 6: Drive to Sonprayag/Gaurikund. Formidable 16km trek to Kedarnath. Evening Aarti and Darshan. Stay in Kedarnath.
- Day 7: Morning Darshan. Trek back to Gaurikund and return to Guptkashi.
- Day 8: Scenic drive to Badrinath via Joshimath. Evening Darshan after holy dip in Tapt Kund.
- Day 9: Drive to Rudraprayag or Srinagar (Garhwal) admiring the confluences.
- Day 10: Final drive back to Haridwar/Rishikesh via Devprayag. Yatra concludes.
