Brahmatal is a rare high-altitude trek accessible even in deep winter. The trail winds through dense oak and rhododendron forests, leading to the high-alpine destination of Brahmatal Lake. The lake freezes entirely in winter, surrounded by pristine, untouched snow fields.
What truly sets Brahmatal apart are the staggering views it offers. From the trail and especially from the summit, you get unprecedented, close-up panoramic views of Mt. Trishul and Nanda Ghunti. The trek offers an incredible mix of forest trails, open snow meadows, and a ridge walk that is considered one of the most stunning in the Indian Himalayas.
A scenic 10-hour drive through the Kumaon region. The route passes through Bhimtal, Almora, and Kausani before reaching the basecamp of Lohajung.
Ascend through a magnificent oak forest mixed with rhododendrons. Arrive at the beautiful campsite near the partly frozen Bekaltal lake.
The trek opens out onto the spectacular Telandi meadows, revealing massive mountain views. Arrive at the Brahmatal campsite before sunset.
The summit push day! Scale the Brahmatal Top for arguably the best views of Mt. Trishul and Nanda Ghunti. After the climb, descend to Daldum.
